What every swimmer learns

More than lessons

Four things we work on in every single session, from the first splash to the last lap.

Water Safety

Survival floating, safe entry and exit, and knowing what to do when something goes wrong. The skill that matters most.

Stroke Technique

Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly — taught properly, corrected patiently, drilled until it feels natural.

Endurance Training

Building the lungs and legs to swim further without fear. Structured sets that grow with each swimmer.

Fun for All Levels

Games, relays and a team that cheers for each other. Kids come back because they enjoy it — that's how they improve.

Coach Jayson

Head Coach — Laguna Barracudas Swim Club

Coach Jayson coaches the Laguna Barracudas around a simple belief: every Filipino child should know how to swim. At the San Luis Sports Complex he trains beginners and competitive swimmers side by side, week in and week out.

He coaches the way he wishes he'd been coached — patiently, one correction at a time, with enough fun in the session that nobody notices how hard they're working. Parents are welcome on deck, and every swimmer gets looked at individually, not just counted in a lane.

  • Certified swimming instructor and aquatic attendant
  • International aquatics experience with Carnival Cruise Line
  • Coaches swimmers competing in STASA–PAI sanctioned meets
  • Water safety and rescue trained

Good to know

Common questions

My child has never been in a pool. Is that okay?

That's exactly who the Little Barracudas group is for. We start with getting comfortable in shallow water — no pressure to put a face in, no forcing. Most children are floating on their own within a few sessions.

What should we bring to the first session?

Swimsuit, goggles, a towel and drinking water. A swim cap is helpful for longer hair. If you don't have goggles yet, come anyway — we can sort it out on the day.

Can adults really start from zero?

Yes, and many do. Our adult group is mostly people who never had the chance to learn as children. Sessions are small and private slots are available if you'd rather not learn in a group.

Do I have to compete?

No. Most of our swimmers train for safety and fitness only. If a swimmer wants to race, there's a clear pathway into the competition squad and STASA–PAI sanctioned meets — but it is always their choice.

Can parents watch the lessons?

Always. Parents are welcome on deck, and for younger swimmers we actively encourage it. You'll see exactly what your child is working on.

How much do lessons cost?

Rates depend on the group and whether you choose group or private sessions. Send us a message through the form below or call Coach Jayson and we'll give you the current rates and available slots.
